Lady Lake Luck did not last for long. DNR pulled up after the first cast 

and we were sans a local fishing license. DNR graciously let us fish post-ticket.

This teeny tiny fishy cost $160.00. Wolf!!!

Clearly I was the only one aboard willing to smile for pictures. :)

I now know you need a local fishing license. Thanks a lot DNR!!!

Ale and I had the best time at our college friends wedding today.
Both the bride and groom were Clemson graduates --- what could be better!??

Hint #1: The weekend getaway is in my favorite state!!! And it's not where @ashmlondon is jetsetting --- I miss you AML!!! My favorite state is North Carolina! AML was California-bound.
Hint #2: We are going coastal!!! And by coastal I meant the Neuse River.

Hint #3: Nicholas Sparks wrote about this charming town in one of his books. Did you read At First Sight or True Believer? Nicholas Sparks grew up and still resides here.
Hint #4: This is the homeplace of Pepsi-Cola ... @MuffyMartini's favorite drink! Last hint and I will spill the beans tomorrow. And we drank Coke the whole time! Shame on us!!!
@PreppyBumpkin guessed right! Our weekend away was in New Bern, North Carolina. Mamatella and I had the best time on our extended weekend getaway to the coast. My grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, and cousins kept us in good company throughout our mini-vaca. Until next time!!! Xoxo-BLC

Old Lady Red Lipstick

My two favorite memories of my grandmother involve cake and lipstick. What could be better!??? As a child, I remember my parents traveling a good bit for work and my grandmother looking after me. My grandmother would always bake a cake. Then we would nibble on the cake breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!! As a child, eating cake for breakfast was better than a day off from school. And playing hookie from school wasn't an option when Grammie was in town! Before dropping me off at the schoolhouse, my grandmother would always put a dab of lipstick on me then gloss her own lips. I never saw her bare lips because she always wore a fabulous color of Revlon lipstick. And, in a pinch, she used that same lipstick on her cheeks. I use to think of Revlon lipstick as "old lady red lipstick" but today I wear the same on my lips (and sometimes my cheeks too!). Revlon's "Hot Coral" and "Lilac Champagne" are always within my reach. I know she is getting older and frailer, but my memory of her will forever be timeless: she is stylish, graceful, and whimsical. When I eat cake or wear lipstick, I think of her. Thanks for letting me be your "baby angel" Grammie!!!! I love you and I miss you. See you next week! Xoxo-BLC

Happy National Day of Prayer!

Happy National Day of Prayer to you and yours! What are you praying about!? This is my prayer today:

"Attempt something so impossible that if God weren't in it, 
it would be doomed to fail."

Do you keep an inspiration notebook?! I do. I use the Lilly Pulitzer mini notebook to jot down my thoughts and prayers. Most words of wisdom come from Bible Study or Sunday sermons. However, I do write down funnies too. For example:

Q: How often do you rotate your tires?

A: Every time I drive. They go round and round and round.

Tee hee. See, my notebook made a funny!!! I highly recommend an inspiration notebook. And, Lifeguard Press has some skinny ones so you don't have to break you back toting it around waiting for inspiration to strike! Cheers to leading a colorful life full of inspiration. After oodles and oooldes of HTML tinkering, I performed major surgery on TCSK!!! She needed a little facelift after year and half with the old. I am extremely proud of the results. And, TCSK + Twitter + Storefront all happen to match. I love matchie-matchie! Hehe. Enough tooting my own horn already. Remember endless summer days, grass stained knees, catching fireflies, and wearing jellys??? 

Well, I recently slipped on this pair of jellys by Jimmy Choo ...

and I quickly returned to those endless summer days with grass stained knees from catching fireflies. I only tried the pair on for "research" because my next read is going to be "Shoo, Jimmy Choo!" by Catey Hill. The subtext is "the modern girl's guide to spending less and saving more" but I think it should be "the modern girl's guide to spending less and saving more while wearing jellys by Jimmy Choo."
