Kentucky Derby

Sweet friends of ours invited us over to watch the Kentucky Derby. Squeak LOVED their puppy dog Maisy - and I think the feeling was mutual. What a fun race!?! My husband picked the winning horse which makes it even more fun. Go California Chrome go!!! Xoxo-BLC

Master's Weekend

A college friend invited my husband to the Master's and we had the best weekend. He did all things golf with his college friends while Squeak and I played with my college friends. We have missed their company SO MUCh and it was wonderful being in their presence. We laughed and caught up and transported back to college ... but with our babies on our hips. So fun!
We LOVE our reflection and looking in a mirror ... or reverse picture.
I hope this never changes. :)
 Selfie smiles!!!
One of our college friends hosted us in their gorgie home. Squeak wasn't sure what to do with carpet, but she made sure to taste-test it with lots of licks. GROSS!!!
A weekend away was just what the doctor ordered and we loved every bit of it!!!

Take me out to the ballgame ...

It's safe to say baby Squeak won't remember her first baseball game as she caught her zzzz's through each inning. Instead of "take me out to the ballgame" she was OUT for the whole ballgame. :) We enjoyed the game with two of my husband's friends. They were nice to let us girls tag along.

Our local team just built a beautiful new stadium downtown and it's just more fun. The skyline lights up at night so pretty. The ballpark usually puts on fireworks and the Children's Hospital is in perfect position to see the show every time. What a treat for those sweet kiddos.

Looking forward to lots of baseball games with baby Squeak as she grows up.

The Hunt

Boys will be boys. They went on what looked like the most ah-mazing hunt. It was a quail trip they won at an auction to support the homeless in our town. All for a good cause! Even better. And the pups on the farm looks so precious. The one pictured looks a lot like our Stewart!!! I am so thankful my husband had time to get away with his buddies and do something he loves. Xoxo-BLC

Ski Bunny

We nested in Lionshead Village at Vail Spa and Condos. As such, we started each day at that gondola and dinned lunch in that village.
Mamatella doesn't ski (get a crane - haha) and was BEYOND gracious enough to watch Squeak so that we could ski. Squeak was in good hands and we had fun on the slopes.
We met Mamatella and Squeak for lunch each day which was just lovely. I love the mid-day break from skiing. There is nothing like fresh powder then relaxing and then getting after it for a few more runs.
I think Lionshead Village is so quaint. It looked like how I expect a European ski village might looks. It wasn't super crowded and there was tons to do (iceskating! coffee shops, shopping, dinning, etc.). Xoxo-BLC

Thumb Down

I hate to be a spoilsport, but I can't believe we lost. AGAIN! I have never ever been to the Clemson v. South Carolina game in all my years. This year my sister encouraged us to go and I am so glad she did. Squeak stayed with my sister and youngest nephew while my oldest nephew, BIL, and husband went to the game. It was a lot of fun - despite the BIG loss. And, I'm still bitter that my nephews are South Carolina fans ... there is still hope to turn them into Tigers, right!?! Xoxo-BLC

Let's GO TIGERS!!!

Football season has arrived and all I can say is: "LET'S GO TIGERS!!!"
Miss Squeak only wakes up for touchdowns. :)
I do owe a major apology to my husband. Our marriage is usually interrupted by football season ... but this year, our family is interrupting football season. I know he would have loved to attended the Clemson v. UGA game (and all the other games for that matter). Fingers crossed he (and maybe WE) can still make it to a few later in the season!!! Xoxo-BLC

Pitch Perfect

I grew up going to Knight's baseball games and loved it. While in college, I went to plenty of Clemson baseball games. Then, I also worked at the Lilly shop in Greenville and saw the town build their minor league baseball stadium downtown. The whole "if you build it, they will come" is so true because I have never seen so many business men flock by the shop when The Greenville Drive threw their first pitch.

Mamatella came to town for a long visit and our Sunday School class had planned to all attend the baseball game. Of course I dragged her along and it was loads of fun. I do think ballpark food is just better when pregnant (and I ate my weight in food truck happies and hot dogs). I am looking forward to a lot of summertime baseball games to come!!! Xoxo-BLC

PS: Believe it or not, I know you cannot see the bump above, but that shirt was too tight and has been retired until post-baby. I do think it is funny how some angles you can hardly tell and then others is like WOW. :)

Super Bowl Sunday

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to you and yours!!! Dish: who are you pulling for!?!
Is it the 49ers above?
:: GAP Leather Leggings :: Carrie Dunham Clutch :: 49ers Pashmina ::
:: Tory Burch Flats :: JCrew Tunic :: Elizabeth McKay Fur Vest ::

Or the Baltimore Ravens below!?!
:: Elizabeth McKay Dress :: Ravens Number One Finger :: Lilly Pulitzer Pashmina ::
:: Ivanka Trump Bootes :: Carrie Dunham Tote ::
Our tradition is cheer on the teams, eat too many dips, and laugh at the commercials with our Sunday School class. I hope you enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday!!! Xoxo-BLC

Dukson or Clemuke ...

I am a huge Clemson fan. And a huge Duke fan.
Naturally the Duke v. CU game is a tough one ... but a win either way!!!
Two sad blue devils and two happy happy tigers!!!

Hear us ROAR!!!

My college chums and I have been planning this weekend get-together for quite some time and, as such, I have verrry much been looking forward to it!!! A 3:30pm kickoff time allowed us all day fun.
It was such a treat to tailgate in one spot ALL day, sit together, and spend the whole weekend with these girlies. I don't seem them enough and miss them ooooodles.
It's so much fun being on our old stomping grounds ... it throws us back to that place in time.
Just pulling into Clemson, I get the same feeling when I pull into my childhood neighborhood: it will always be my home away from home. And these girls (and all my Clemson friends) became my family away from family. It was such a fun-filled weekend. Is it too early to plan our next get together!?! I think not!!! Xoxo-BLC

PS: I had to snap this picture of our packed-up-PINK tailgate gear ... the girls clearly planned the tailgate and did the packing!!! We were thankful the boys did the heavy lifting. :)

NUKE!!!

We headed to Atlanta this weekend to cheer on our CLEMSON TIGERS!!!
It was beyond funnn and I still am jumping for joy: WE WON!!! Eeeeeek.
I am sooo excited for Clemson's football season. And yeahhh ACC!!!
Go Clemson Go!!! Xoxo-BLC

PS: NUKEEE!!! I'm use to cheering for Duke, so Nuke is easy peasy for me. It might sound like booo to a rookie, but I assure you it's all ra-ra cheers. I'm thrilled for Nuke: he just accepted Christ as his Savior. We might not formally meet in this lifetime, but I know I'll see his happy face in Heaven.
Until then, all best wishes to NUKE!!!

"Football Season"

It happened tonight ... my marriage was interrupted by "football season."
I thought season only last 1/4 of the year. Yet, this "football season" lasts two seasons ...
Mary Phillips always says it best. The remote belongs to Ale until Super Bowl weekend.
Let the football games begin. Go Clemson Tigers and Duke Blue Devils!!! Xoxo-BLC

Ohhh-LYMPICS!!!

Ohhh la la!!! I am beyond excited for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
I am excited they are taking place in England.
I am most excited about pulling for our great country.
Gooo USA USA USA!!! Xoxo-BLC

Take Me Out To The Ballllllgame ...

We weekended in Atlanta and it wouldn't be a complete trip without visiting the Braves. We had so much fun with college chums and by chance running into family: a cousin, aunt, and uncle!!!
I exercised my pop culture knowledge by spying Ace and Dunbar in Atlanta. It made me feel old: I haven't watched the Real World in yearrrrrrs. Chin chin to the B-R-A-V-E-S!!! Xoxo-BLC

She's a PRO!!!

One of my best friends in the whole world paid us a visit this weekend and I couldn't be more thrilled!!!
I talk her ear off on the phone ALL the time, but being in the same place at once is just a treat.
We packed our weekend full of fun and decided to do something she had never done before: shoot skeet! And guess what ... She's a pro!!! A total natural and picked it up right away.
She nailed more clays than I ever have ... or ever will. It was beyond fun.
I gifted my husband a hunting membership for Christmas and we had a ball seeing the place.
With gorgeous weather, wide open spaces, and in great company, who could ask for more!?!
Many thanks to Stella for coming ALL this way to see us and spend time together.
Is it too soon to ask: when will you come back!?! :) Xoxo-BLC

Orange you glad!?! I AM!!!

There are NO WORDS to express my excitement: Clemson won the ACC Championship!!!
I am beyond proud of my Tigers ... and I am BEYOND excited to go to MIAMI!!!
We tailgated with the best of 'em: it included a white table cloth, DJ,
and tons of college chums. Oh la la was it FUN running into all those Clemson chums!!!
Isn't the sunset stunning!?! All I see is purple and orange. :)
I needed a rest-break hiking up to our seats.
I claim it was because of the "altitude" and not because I might be out of shape.
And BRRR was it chilly so high up, but just LOOK at that view of the field!!!
We couldn't stop smiling ear to ear!!! Miami here we come.
I couldn't stop giggling at all the fans throwing oranges on the field.
Fingers crossed we can win the Orange Bowl!!!
Let's GOOO TIGERS!!! Xoxo-BLC

11.26.2011

If you can't beat 'em ...

If you can't beat 'em, then join 'em!!! My husband loves to hunt and so do I ... deals and steals at shops that is. He has accompanied me on countless shopping expeditions so I figured it was time to see what all the hunting fuss was about. We shot skeet and oh la la was it fun!!! The best part: no animals where hurt. Phew!!!
I must say: a shotgun is heavier, louder, and kicks more than I ever anticipated. Plus, those clay bits move rather fast. I only hit the clay skeet one time ... and my precious sister-in-law caught it all on video. How cute is she squealing with delight!?! Many thanks to my husband and father-in-law for all their patience and willingness to let the girls the play. Until next time, PULL!!! Xoxo-BLC

11.15.2011

Let's Go Panthers!!!

Let's go Panthers!!! Since my husband missed the Clemson v. Wake game ...
... moi, Mamatella, and Ale made it to our other favorite cats football game:
the Panthers!!! I haven't seen them play in way too long.
I've been a Panther's fan since sixth grade when they came to Charlotte.
Wishing them the best season and gooo Panthers!!! Xoxo-BLC

Sea of Orange

We headed to Clemson, South Carolina this weekend for the Clemson v. UNC game.
I ♥ spending Fall weekends in Clemson. I was BEYOND excited for this game in particular ...
... I sported my new Elizabeth McKay dress. If you look very closely at the print, you can see a "liger." It might really be a lion, but as a Clemson fan, I am pushing for liger (lion + tiger = liger). The dress was beyond comfortable and chic too. I simply must add other prints of this Lindsey dress: I am eyeing the zebra print and, if Clemson keeps on winning, the purple chain print is a must must must.
We carried two UNC friends and had a ball tailgating, glamping, and dining at all our favorite spots: Pixie and Bills, The Esso, and, of course, Pot Belly Deli. As a huge Duke fan and Clemson fan, beating UNC is always my favorite!!! I still keep pinching myself and hardly know what to do with all these Clemson wins. All I can say is: "woo hoo hoo hoo" and "GO TIGERS!!!" Xoxo-BLC

PS: Running into Beantown Prepster's college roommate and squeezing Classic Annie just made the day that much more special!!! Check out Classic Annie's blog as she reported her first time in Tiger Town. :)
