Wanted: Dead or Alive

Welcome back Deadliest Catch! I seriously want each of these sailors at my Thanksgiving table. Would that not just be a hoot and a hollar? As long as they weren't sitting next to prim and proper Grams. I go back and forth whether it is ethical for me to watch their show. On the one hand I want them to do well and prosper. On the other hand, the thought of someone who sits around my Thanksgiving table risking it all at the mercy of the Bering Sea sends shivers up my spine. So do tell, do you think it is unethical to eat crab and support their show? Don't be crabby with me if I might-sort-of-kind-of-will tune in tonight. Xoxo-BLC

  2. I started watching the show when the local McCormick and Schmick's started serving crab caught on the boat from the show! Its much less of a guilty pleasure than some shows out there!

  5. I think you should eat lots of crab and support them! It is a job and if people aren't buying crab then they don't have a job - oh and I LOVE me some crab legs yummy yummy.

  7. Ohhh I love this show. I saw the commercials last week and made my husband drive to 4 different restaurants when we were at the shore for the day just to get king crab legs. And they were so worth it. Yum Yum Yum :0)

  10. I love this show! It's so intense....not all jobs can be the safest ones, right? Plus....they get paid some serious money for all that risk!

  12. While I only eat the local SC crab that my dad usually catches for me (and no danger involved), I don't think it is wrong to watch. you must love some aspect of that job to risk it, and I bet they get paid more for being on the show- and the show goes on with you watching

  14. oh that's a great show. it's no Real Housewives of NYC, but it's good. And, who in their right mind (minus serious shellfish allergies) does NOT eat crab??? A summer w/o crabs, quelle horreuer!

  23. Love these guys too! Did you see them on cash Cab? The crew was taking turns riding in the cash cab to raise $$$ for Ronald McDonald House. One three-some got in the cab & told (Ben) the driver that he had a blank check and would match anything that they won. They won and so they matched it and gave it all to charity! You just gotta love that.
Ok, now i really want to say thanks for following me over at TLPC. I always appreciate followers and colorful comments.
    Have a great weekend.

  24. I'm afraid the chain smoking will do them in before anything else gets to them. I love watching them though. The first snap of below 60 temps and I'd be inside. I'd never make it out of Greehorn status. I have a new appreciation for king crab. :)
