Showered with Love

Gift hunting: child's play! Thanks to Lilly Pulitzer's miniaturized line. The Hen's first is on the way and I could not be more thrilled to welcome their little bundle of joy. I bought Mary Lynne this shift and I just know she is going to be so stinking cute in it. If March could hurry up already, she could try it on!! Mary Lynne is going to be one hip gal if her baby shower set the bar for her fun factor. And, as if I had any doubts about that! Congratulations Hens and many thanks to all for such an amazing baby shower! Xoxo-BLC

Socialization II

Setting: After a lovely dinner, Kiki, the boys, and I were walking downtown when we heard this awful noise. Baaaaad karaoke. One girl, singing completely alone, in a bar. All four of us were paralyzed, unable to move.

Singer: Blah blah blah (think ear piercing)
Kiki: [to me] Should we stop her, break the machine, or keep walking?
Stranger: [interjects] Isn't she just great!? I mean, the best ever. You girls should give it a try.
Me: [to Kiki] Keep walking? She does have a fan ...
Kiki: [to me] Yeah, that was most likely her mom.

I mean, karaoke can be fun, right!? Well, we sure had a great laugh. Xoxo-BLC

Truth be Told

Good Gals Inc, Smile Steady, and Just Add Water tagged me for the "Honest Scrap" award. I heart you girlies and LOVE your blogs. The rules ... [1] Choose a minimum of 7 blogs for brilliance in content/design. [2] Show thew winners and let 'em know. [3] List at least 10 honest things about yourself. And off I go ...

1. I refuse to drive/ride more than 4 hours. If it is that far, I want to fly.
2. I go to bed early. And get up early.
3. If I workout in the AM, I prefer solo. If I workout in the PM, I need a buddy.
4. It peeves me when people ask where my clothing is from.
5. I have psoriasis, not the heartbreak of America.
6. I pray really hard before I vote.
7. I wonder what I would be like/where I would be if I went to Parsons instead of Clemson.
8. I itch to go to Vegas. All the time. Shhhh, that one is embarrassing.
9. I secretly like the socratic method.
10. I check flights all the time, as if I could pick up and take off on a whim.
11. I want to me a foster mama. To a lot of children.
12. I still think I could hold my own at Wimbledon. Let me dream.

My lovelies who are tagged are ...

Make me proud! Truth be told, I already am. Xoxo-BLC

Lace Up

Race day always gives me butterflies! We laced up and booked it 13.1 miles to finish our second half marathon together. The Miami course is absolutely beautiful. We started at the Port of Miami, crossed the bridge to South Beach, ran along Ocean Drive, passed the Versace house, and crossed back to downtown Miami. I would recommend this race to any distance runner/walker. Proud of my girlies for going the distance! Xoxo-BLC

Read Me Something Pretty

Blog awarded, again by sweet K at Good Gals Inc. Here goes ... [1] Grab the nearest book. (Oh, dear ...) [2] Open to page 56. (Do books go that high?) [3] Find the 5th sentence. [4] Post the text of the next 2-5 sentences and these rules. [5] Pick the closest book (not the favorite, cool, or intellectual). [6] Tag 5 peeps!

And my nearest book ... "You and the Law" [*cringe* sorry ladies], "The courts in several states that had passed such statutes agreed, and so did the United States Supreme Court; payment of such transportation expenses does not violate the United States Constitution. In some states, however, the courts have held that payment for transportation to parochial schools does violate state constitutional provisions similar to that of the First Amendment." Woof. I hope your "nearest" book is better! The winners are:

I'm Charmed!

Coterie hosted a "Pay It Forward" and I am the charmed winner! Many thanks A! Here is the beautiful book and the charm bracelet my comment referenced. The charms were collected by my great-grandmother from her travels around the world and my mother only wears it when she feels like weight lifting (it is heavyyyy). Aren't they both just lovely? Thanks again A and blog friends, look forward to my upcoming "Pay It Forward." Xoxo-BLC

One x 16

One choice
One tree
One fall for humanity
One lie
One liar
One bite is all death required
One great regret
One squandered chance, and yet
One hope
One day
One name above all other names
One bridge between then and now
One way to discover how
One price
One tree
One drop of crimson covers me

Amp the Vamp

Popsy, a dear friend, told me Twilight was "the most romantic love story of all time." I kid you not. I asked her if she had ever read/watched Gone with the Wind. Anyhoo, we saw the movie and she tossed the book my way before the holiday. And OMG. The movie was fantastic, the book was remarkable, and I am officially on the bandwagon. All thanks to Popsy! Pullleaze tell me you are vamping it up too! Xoxo-BLC

Socialization

Setting: After a large soiree, Kiki and I are bunking together in a friend's penthouse. We are two of many guests sleeping over. It is early. VERY early in the morning. Door opens. Boy enters.

Boy: [tapping Kiki] Excuse me miss, can I sleep with you?
Kiki: [to boy] I am sorry, but I do not think my husband would like that.
Boy: [tapping me] Excuse me miss, are you married too?
Me: OMG. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN OUR ROOM? I am calling security. GET OUT!!!!!
Kiki: [to me] BLC, the Munola's do not have security.

Oops. Boy ended up being harmless (and another *rude* house guest). Talk about an unwanted wake-up call! Haha! Good times with Kiki, as always. Xoxo-BLC

Beau`ti-ful

Oh dear! I hear my ego inflating as I type. Please send all blames towards K at Good Gals Inc. My third award goes like this ... "You are truly beautiful. Beautiful means more than a pretty face! It also means that you are unique, and oh so full of grace! The things in you that go on much deeper than the softness of your skin are the things that make you beautiful, both inside and within! Rules: Find and give the beautiful ladies that you follow. Don't be shy and don't forget to notify!" And the winners are ...

Just for the record, you rock K! Many thanks!! Xoxo-BLC

Pooch Smooch

How much is that puppy in the window? I need this one. Bad! Her jewels would be Sniffany's and necklace by Lilly Pulitzer. She would not dare go outside without her Chewy Vuitton or Lilly Pulitzer lead. Occassionally, she would sport her Polo. For the upcoming Super Bowl, she would eat ToMUTTo Soup and drink a Buddyweiser. She would date Bourne, Kiki's pup (and my godson). She would have the purrrfect life. This future-fur-mum can hardly wait! Xoxo-BLC

PS: Pup needs a name too ... suggest away!

Flying Colors

Who passed all five classes with flying colors? Me! With the help of ... a lot of people. Especially God, Ale, Granddad, and my parents. Toot toot (yes, I pressed my own horn). Now, I need a sweet treat, right? Oh no, I am not breaking my impossolution (yet). This Lilly Pulitzer Shannyn Top in Cocktail Pink will do the trick. Now, back to the books to work for next semester's bread and butter. Toot toot (I couldn't resist pressing it one more time!). Thanks for letting me brag. Cheers! Xoxo-BLC

Moxie Proxie

Thank you K at Good Gals Inc for being my first follower, my first blog friend, and for my first blog award! I really appreciate allllll three. Here goes... "This blog invests and believes in proximity- nearness in space, time, and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writings. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award." And the winners are ...

Congratulations girls and don't forget to pass it on. Xoxo-BLC

Fly DELTA

I am flying the coop for The Hills today. Yeah! Spring semester begins Monday. The bursar's office is holding my grades because I "forgot" to pay a parking ticket. Oops. No grades for me until the bursar's office re-opens. Anyhoo, I am looking forward to catching up on some much needed reading in the airport before I hit the law textbooks. I am cleared for take off! Xoxo-BLC

PS: My flight, definitely cancelled. I suppose I can spend one more day on the coast and catch tomorrow's flight out!

Here are my stipulations: I cannot eat sweets unless it is a (1) national holiday, (2) celebration (birthday, wedding, shower, etc.), or (3) vacation. Do you have any resolutions? Good luck to you and yours! Xoxo-BLC
