Noah's Ark

I am a Christian and I believe in creation. I believe God created us and I disbelieve we evolved into the beings we are today. I was never taught of evolution in grade school. I was only taught creation and I count that as a blessing. However, most children are the opposite: they never learn the creation story and are only taught evolution. This never even crossed my mind until this week until I had the pleasure of learning about the Creation Museum and their next project, the Ark Encounter. I think the Creation Museum is a magnificent way to share about creation and I think the Ark Encounter will be just as huge ... literally!!! Here is the gist:
"When Noah built the Ark, it stood as a symbol of salvation. No doubt Noah preached that only those who went through the Ark’s door would be saved from coming judgment. What if we built the Ark (out of wood) today? Imagine the impact it could have on the world. What a powerful outreach to teach the world about God’s Word and the message of salvation!" I'm certain people will heckle, just as people heckled Noah way back when. But I think this is just awesome. I want to be a part of this endeavor and you can join me: we can help build the Ark, pray for its progress, and visit one day too!!! Xoxo-BLC

  1. If the creation story is a religious opinion why should all kids learn it instead of evolution which is practically truth?

  2. I really enjoyed your blog until this post. I respect your beliefs but think that this is inappropriate for this type of blog, and because of this I have decided to no longer follow you.

I also echo the sentiments of the person who wrote above me. Evolution is scientific fact, and it breaks my heart that you never were taught that growing up -it is truly a failure of the U.S. education system.

  3. I'm really glad you spoke out about this on your blog BLC. It shows your a person of worth. I'm a college student in the sciences and evolution is by now means "proven" like these other people say. In the words of my biology proffessor from the UK: "its plausible" not proven. The fact is that people with real scientific minds analyze evolution and recognize its strengths and weaknesses. People who say evolution is "proven" like to believe in it like a religion. There is nothing wrong with religion, but what is wrong is claiming that science has enough "evidence" to eliminate God.

  6. While I respect your opinion and understand that this is your venue to voice whatever your personal beliefs may be, it equally saddens me that you never learned about evolution as a child just as it saddens you that children do not learn the creation story. I am personally grateful to have learned both, the creation story in grade school and evolution in high school. While this is only my personal opinion, I believe myself to be a more rational and faithful person because of my understanding and respect for these two beliefs. I truly believe that there is room for the two to coexist in our world while remaining a person of faith. I only hope that people can come to be less polarizing in the arguments and more respectful of others' perspectives. Best of luck BLC and I will remain a loyal reader no matter what your opinions may be.

  7. What an interesting view that the anonymous reader doesn't think you have a right to speak your beliefs on your own blog! Another one of those liberals who doesn't believe in freedom of speech unless it suits them. Keep up the good work. Also, we are bombarded with evolution, so no loss that you didn't hear about it in school. I went to a secular school (I am 47 years old) and when they taught evolution, some of us spoke up and told the creation story to everyone else! I am listed as anonymous, but my name is Rebecca. Shalom!

  8. Thank you for sharing about the Creation Museum. I have heard such wonderful things about it from family mambers who have visited, but hadn't heard about this new Noah project. It sounds truly amazing!

You were so blessed to not have to learn about evolution. I attended both Public and Christian school and I remember when this was taught at my publc school- all the kids would laugh about it - basically everyone thought it was a joke that any human being evolved from a Monkey- and I know many still do! I am a Christian and was glad that my parents instilled in me the true story of God's creation early in life - so that when this moment occured I was already grounded in my faith and beliefs.

God bless you for standing up for what you believe!
