It's rush season! I signed, sealed, and delivered my Kappa Delta recommendation letters and am now crossing my fingers the girlies receive bids. My favorite rush memory: the three B's. The forbidden conversation: the Bible, boys, and booze. Whatever was I suppose to talk about with those eliminated?! Don't worry ... I cheated and chatted about the three B's like it was going out of style! Do you have a favorite rush memory? Xoxo-BLC
PS: Have you seen the "SororiTEES"? Too cute! :)
PS: Have you seen the "SororiTEES"? Too cute! :)
Both our girls are UofL alumnae KDs :o)
ReplyDelete*Their dad loves to tease them and "try" to figure out what AOT means!*
...He hasn't been successful and would never know if he ever happened to guess. haha
...but of course, their lips are sealed, so they just smile at their silly dad :o)
this made me laugh so hard- you are just too much fun BLC!
ReplyDeletethank God the 4th B- you- are an okay subject ;)
kHm
Soo funny, we had the three B's but they were Boys, Brands, and Booze.
ReplyDeleteI sent in my recommendations for Alpha Phi and my best friend's sister is preffing them tonight - so excited for her!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite rush memory is rushing a girl who tried to steal a cookie from the party with Alpha Phi on it so she could show everyone where she had just come from and having to take it back from her. It was funny later on. :)
I was a DDD at Charleston. I just did my duty and shipped off my recs last week!
ReplyDeleteHow cute. I loved rush so much! One of my sisters and I were getting a girl's recs ready last week. Go Phi Mu!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite rush memory was when I rushed (not yet in my sorority) I remember just being awe-struck by everything. My first memory was visiting the DDD house and seeing all the girls in matching outfits...it was so fun and I was so nervous!
ReplyDeleteUgh...I hated rush! Learning all of the silly songs and dressing the same. Not, my fave...
ReplyDeleteI loved rush - one of the best times in college before classes ever started and then the first week ... my favorite story is from a friend who was at a house and the girl asked her "what does your dad do?" and my friend, who happens to really not appreciate those kind of questions but has a very prominent father in her community, responded "oh, he's in prison for embezellment" ... the girl was stunned. Everyone couldn't believe the girl asked my friend that, I was more shocked that my friend was quick enough with that response! I'm sure neither meant to hurt any feelings, but I still find that story amusing!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I thought you were going to post about Barneys, Bergdorf's & Bloomies!!! xox
ReplyDeleteWoo go KD! We have the 3Bs too but here they are Boys, Booze, and Bank Accounts!
ReplyDelete*AOT*
I can't say I have any rush memories. My college did not have a Greek system. Sounds like it was a fun experience though...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you made me laugh and immediately think "No beer, No boys" (for any pics that we wanted to potentially make the rush slide show). Such fun times and such great friends.
ReplyDeleteI learned it as 4 B's- boys, booze, Bible, and bank.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I haven't thought about the 3 B's in a long time! It brings back fun memories!
ReplyDeleteI love rush! We had something similar with the B's. I miss singing the all the songs and doing cheers before the girls would come inside!
ReplyDeleteI told a girl I liked her dress, "you look hot," i told her. It obvously overwhelmed her and she thought I was hitting on her, because she commented about it to the next KD that got her, after to me. Then THAT girl stood up after the party and told the chapter not to tell people they look "hot!" Sheesh--NOT my fault ole girl wasn't down with the slang--it was a compliment!haha
ReplyDeleteMaybe because I rushed so long ago I can't remember anything that we weren't supposed to talk about but I'm sure that wouldn't have stopped me. My favorite memory? Theme Day. We would put on these elaborate musical productions with costumes and choreography and I liked walking up and down the row seeing what everyone came up with. I also liked house tours because our house was a former old LA mansion. Wow. I haven't thought of this in years! What a fun post! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I went through Rush it is a total blur, but I loved being on the other side of recruitment, the excitement and anxiety of preference night! Good memories of those fun college days!
ReplyDeleteI've heard the following B's: booze, boys, brands, bank accounts, butts (cigs) and Bible! Wonder why B's? Haha - anyways, my favorite rush memory to date was when I hugged my little sister at bid day this past Sunday when she was given a bid from KD!! I love that my sister is now my sister. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was memory was pref night when I met the girl that ended up being my big sis. I loved her so much and we were a perfect match!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite rush memory would have to be at a house I didn't pledge. I was standing on the lawn and having the chapter vice president run up to me and ask me my dogs name and tell me the dress I wore to my high school graduation was gorgeous. I knew all the chapters had pictures of me, but for some reason this totally freaked me out!!
ReplyDeleteI loved rush! I loved it when I went through it and again on the other side. I love that we're both KD's! AOT!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite rush memory is not because I loved the moment, but because I couldn't believe it happened. On the first night of rush my group was rushing a girl who said she was a legacy (not true) and started talking to one of our members about tattoos. Well, for some reason the girl felt it was necessary to show the table her tattoo and proceeded to pull her shorts down in the middle of the party to show her hip tattoo. We made sure she wasn't a legacy and didn't invite her back.
