Bess Frans Baby Shower!

We made the big trip for a college bess fran's baby shower!!! It was so fun seeing these two and celebrating the TWINS coming early Spring. We are sooo excited for our sweet friends and it was such a lovely celebration. Squeak is looking forward to having friends to play with at Clemson games!!! Xoxo-BLC

I think I've mentioned this a few times before, but I cannot say it enough: I really have the best friends. They are so sweet and such a blessing. Friends definitely make my life much more colorful and FUN. My sweet friends and I hosted a baby shower this weekend and oh-my-goodness was it great.

Squeak is BEYOND excited to meet Baby R and we are TOO!!! It was so much fun showering them and such a great day. Also, I didn't want the adult beverages to break en route to the shower ... and thank goodness the carseat base made the PERFECT wine holder. Bahaha!!! At first it was a joke, but it worked so well, don't think I won't use it again because I definitely plan on it. :) Xoxo-BLC

Miss Squeak's FORMAL Baby Announcement!!!

I just love love love Miss Squeak's formal baby announcement!!! Believe it or not, my husband snapped this picture with our rebel camera and we just knew it was THE perfect picture of her. She was three weeks old and had just smiled for the first time!!! I've never fretted over a card so much, but I love the way it turned out ... it's very Miss Squeak!!! She is the BIGGEST blessing to us and our lives. We are sooo thrilled to announce Miss Squeak. Xoxo-BLC

Sleeping Through the Night ...

It's official, Miss Squeak found her thumb and it has been wonderful.

Her thumb trumps a pacifier and has helped with sleeping through the night!!!

 As we transitioned from an early-morning feeding to sleeping through the night,

her thumb was the perfect snack to tide her over and soothe her.

Look at the BIG smile and wild hair!!! I couldn't help snapping this picture. 

She is the BEST wake up call every morning. 

Week 9ish was our magic week of sleeping through the night.

Baby Tiger

Our usual seats at Death Valley are being kept warm by someone else this year.

Instead of making the Clemson football games, our family of three has been attending ...

 Squeak loves pulling on her Tigers. She still only wakes up for touchdowns. 

I don't blame her!!!! A nod to Mean Girls ... we do love sporting our team colors on Fridays!!!

Pink Room Happenings

Two Months

Squeak is TWO MONTHS today!!! ITime is FLYINGGG and we are having so much fun. She is just the BEST. Her little frog legs are filling out ... we have our best on thunder thighs coming soon. She had her recent check up and is growing perfectly. We did survive those awful shots :(. Squeak LOVES getting out of the house: walks, shopping, you name, it she wants to go. Squeak smiles ALL the time and is a little FLIRT. We just love her to the moon and back!!! She is so much fun and my best girl. Chin chin to the months to come!!! Xoxo-BLC #thesqueakmonthly

First Playdate

Squeak had her first ever play date!!! Her sweet friend was beyond precious ... Squeak was a tad fussy. And we are clearly working on our manners after this bottom right love-tap. Fingers crossed we have many more playdates soon!!! Xoxo-BLC

Chirp Chirp, Coo-Coo Coo-Coo

It's official: I have been initiated into mommyhood. 

I have been 100% hazed and had the mommy meltdown to prove it. 

 I am exclusively nursing Squeak and two weekish in, she wanted to eat every hour. Talk about exhausting!!! Neither one of us were sleeping and she only wanted a snack ... I was up a creek. I had my meltdown, called my sweet husband home early from work, polled my baby friends, and consulted my baby book. The solution: let her cry it out until the next mealtime. We started with every two hours and eased our way into every three hours. I am happy to report that she has herself on a schedule and we are both VERY happy!!!

So we made it over the hump and then I went off the deep end again: I swear I heard a bird in the house. And it sounded like it was dying. Stewart was NOT helping me locate the birdie, so, again, my sweet husband comes home from work at lunchtime to find this bird. After searching high and low with no bird appearing, he returned the office. The bird kept chirping. Later that night when he was home, the bird chirped again for him to hear ... only to find out it was his tablet alert noise. I felt like the biggest idiot ... and its not like his tablet is new. Palm-face. So can we all agree I have been duly hazed and initiated!?! I thought pregnancy brain left after the baby arrives?!! Do I have baby brain now!?! Either way, Miss Squeak and I will make it and laugh the whole way!!! Xoxo-BLC

Baby + Dog = ♥

Stewart is definitely my furbaby and I have been sooo worried about how he would handle our new bundle of joy. I am not sure he ever understood that I was pregnant. We boarded him while we were in the hospital and a few days after returning home.

 My husband picked Stewart up from the boarders and let him sniff a swaddle blanket with Squeak's scent.  When he arrived home and there was a BABY on his turf, Stewart was not so sure. We let him smell Squeak and he is really into giving her kisses ... like too many kisses. We have progress to make!

 One of our friends visited and brought Stewart this toy ... it MADE his day. And mine!!!

I feel like I fuss at him a lot more --- he wants to lick Squeak every time she is in her swing, bouncer, or rock 'n play. Her first words might be "no Stewart" ...

One thing that helps all three of us cope: WALKS!!! Stewart lives for our daily walks and I love them too. I haven't mastered Squeak and Stewart all by myself on a walk, but that is this weeks goal! Wish us luck and dish if you have any "adjusting puppy to baby" advice!!! Xoxo-BLC
