GOOD Grief

Do you remember this SATC moment: everything in Charlotte's life is p-e-r-f-e-c-t in a scary, sky-will-fall-down-way??? She stops running and Carrie (and Harry) are worried about her. Last winter about this time, Ale and I talked about freezing time: our family and friends were happy, healthy, and content. Everything was perfect. This past August, I confessed over dindin to my childhood BFF that I could not enjoy how perfect our lives were out of fear something terrible would happen. She was my Carrie and told me to get a grip, to enjoy life in good times and in bad times. As you know, my sky did fall down: my stepdad was diagnosed with cancer in October and was promoted to heaven in December. While I miss him sooo much, I do not worry about him: I am certain of his salvation in Jesus which is the greatest gift he gave me and my family. I do regret all that worrying when in perfectland. Worry is wasteful and useless. As I grieve, I am learning to worry less, enjoy more, always be thankful, and slow down to truly appreciate life. Even in the ups and downs. Please keep my family, especially Mamatella, in your prayers. She took quite a spill breaking her jaw and BOTH arms. But do not worry --- we definitely aren't!!! God is in control. We might look as though we are in the storm, but we are enjoying the sunshine and counting our blessings. Xoxo-BLC
