I believe: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails" 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. I constantly learn of love from my faith, my husband, my friendships, and, of course, my parents. I am celebrating love ALL day today because it's my mom and stepfather's 23rd wedding anniversary. I am sooo thankful to have witnessed, grow-up surrounded by, and felt the love my parents shared. I am saying a special prayer for Mamatella today that she feels our love for her. Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem In Memoriam said it best: "I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Love is actually all around. Xoxo-BLC

So philosophically profound! I'm sure this is really hard for your mother, (and YOU!)...and she is right...she has your step-fathers's wonderful love and memories for the rest of her life...much better than having never had those.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a new love and happiness to look forward to in your sister-in-law's wedding!!
I hope your mom had an OK day yesterday and was able to focus on all the wonderful times she had with your stepfather.
