I do believe Dorothy said it best: "There is no place like our NEW home!!!" We are fiiiinally all moved in, every box unpacked, and loving our new home. Such an occasion requires an announcement, don't you agree!?! Who better than Ashley Brooke Designs!?! ABD custom designed this Wizard of Oz inspired moving announcement. Isn't it divine!?! And the envelope is even cute and sparkly. I just SWOON!!!

When we were itty bitty, my middle sissy's childhood icon was Judy Garland. As such, I idolized Judy just because my sissy did. My favorite Judy film had to be The Wizard of Oz (duhhh) but Meet Me in St. Louis was a close second. Anyhoo, I believe moving announcements should be more playful and FUN. Our first moving announcement were right after we married (click here to see). This round, I contacted Ashley Brooke Designs and she thrilled me to pieces with this whimsical moving announcement. Flat Out Success

Do you read Sheridan French's blog!?! If not, you should. It's awesome for so many reasons and she is fixing to launch her website in one month. Let the online purchasing begin!!! Back in December, she blogged about jeweling heels. While I love a good pair of heels, I had a favorite pair of flats that where halfway to shoe heaven and I thought jeweling just might save their sole.

I purchased these peep toe patent flats after my first year of law school as part celebration for having a big-girl-clerking-job and part as a dire need of work appropriate shoes. They were well loved, worn too often, 100% comfortable, and a fixture in my wardrobe. Now, they just look tired. Until ...

My tools included jewels of all sizes from a local shop (about $15.00), a glue gun, and reggae music just for fun. I intended to cover the shoes tip to toe in gems. However, the tips and toes looks so darling jeweled, I decided to put the glue gun down and let 'em be.

I do believe this DIY project saved these soles from shoe heaven. I think they are darling, just as comfy as always, and now the perfect pair to dance the night away!!! Pursuit of Pretty

When I was itty bitty, my dad and I would pop in Carly Simon tapes (yes ... tapes ... I am an 80's baby after all) and sing as loud as we could to "You're sooo Vain." I still love that song. It reminds me of being young and carefree. While I wouldn't wish vanity on anyone, I think we all suffer from it a tad. I believe its okay to fight vanity and simultaneously pursue pretty because pretty really comes from within. As such, I want my beauty regimen to be less vain and more young, carefree, fresh, simple, and, above all else, easy peasy.

I have super sensitive skin so finding the right product is uber important. In the morning, I use the Aveeno positively radiant scrub and their positively radiant SPF moisturizer. In the evening, I use the Aveeno foam wash and gobs of Cetaphil. I also use a prescription anti-age cream to fight those law-school-induced-wrinkles and another cream to fight my psoriasis (which I still cannot properly spell without looking up).

I am a total makeup-aholic. Yet my daily makeup routine only includes powder, blush, mascara, and lipgloss. For glam nights, I fussie up by adding lipstick and eyeshadow. Revlon has become my staple to-go brand for just about everything. However, I never leave a visit to Sephora empty handed. I don't wear foundation or concealer, so I am picky about my powder. My all time favorite use to be Supernatural by Philosophy, but it's a tad expensive and I swear Revlon's ColorStay Aqua has the same coverage.

A poppy blush color is really important to me. Right now I adore Revlon's Roseberry and for fancier occasions I dab on YSL blush (it smells divine --- really it smells pretty). As for mascara, I cheat on my favorites a lot. My all-time favorite is Trish McEvoy lash curling - it never smears or flakes. For everyday, I adore Revlon's Fabulash or Revlon's Luscious, which should be called the "fifty-yard-lash." As for pouts, I swear Revlon's lipgloss and lipsticks have the same pigment and color options as Chanel. I dare you to agree!!! So dish, how to do you stay vain-free while pursuing pretty!?! The Mane Event

Every summer in my childhood included a stay at Camp Lurecrest. There my cabin five camp counselor bestowed some of the best beauty advice: it's all about the hair. Good hair = good day. Off hair = off day. I honestly like my hair the way it is naturally: straight and chocolate brown. I dither back and forth about shampoo and conditioners. Sometimes I pop for Fekkai or Living Proof, but L'Oreal, Aussie, and Neutrogena remain staples. Remember my dirty little secret?

Well I still use dry shampoo and I have tried them ALL. My favorite: Suave. It's the cheapest and works the best. As for hairdryers, I once used a Chi, but now I prefer Hana and my old trusty PINK Revlon. Hana definitely makes my hair smoother and silker, but the Revlon blows hotter, thus a quicker result. I almost always use a round brush followed by a curling iron and velcro rollers. From pinning the rollers to pinning my pouf, I could not do my do without bobby pins. A few years ago my dishwasher broke and the handyman identified a bobby pin as the culprit. How did that happen!? And are we sure it was my fault!?! Guilty as charged. I could not just pick ONE of Loren Hope's items and these earrings tied for a must have.

These studs have the perrrrfect amount of sparkle and oh la la are they comfy too.

The Elizabeth necklace below is quite the statement. It looks substantial ...

... maybe even heavy, but it's not!!! It is beyond chic and much lighter than it appears.

I am a fan of Loren Hope and how could you not be after reading this: "Jewelry design has always found a way into my life. One of my fondest memories as a little girl is playing in my Grandmother's thrift shop. She would let me plunder around for hours and I would take apart all sorts of old jewelry and re-assemble the baubles into new works of art. I am also a huge fan of vintage jewelry. We are beyond excited that Clemson played in a BSC bowl ...

its a bigger deal than I understand and I am thrilled its in Miami!!!

Of course I wish the scoreboard didn't work/stopped working/couldn't count that high.

Orrrr that the Tigers actually played well. Bigger and better hopes for next year!!!

All in all, I wouldn't have missed this game: another chance to cheer on the Tigers,

support my college, and visit with college chums that live all over the country.

We had so much fun with the couple we went with and I was elated

to run into one of my college best friends. How did I not know she would be there!?!

We decided the Train concert was the highlight. I mean just look it it!!!

A sea of orange, fireworks, good music, what's not to love!?!

I cannot wait to see the Clemson Tigers in Fall of 2012!!!
Until then ... THE REMOTE IS MINE!!! Bye college football.

On Jungle Time

My sissy had just visited and highly recommended Jungle Island.

Me ... visit a zoo!?! YES PULEAZE!!! I looove the zoo.

Hiya pink ladies!!! If I lived in a tropical climate, I would want a pet flamingo.

Or a whole flock of 'em!!! Aren't they gorgie!?!

It wouldn't be a visit to the jungle without MONKEYS!!!

They were putting on quite a show; especially the orangutans with their blankets.

Look: a LIGER!!! So they dooo exist. We overheard the zookeeper saying:

this one escaped once before. YIKES!!! Visiting Jungle Island was remarkable.

You can hold parrots, play with monkeys, ride sumo sized turtles, and so much more.

Miami HEAT

We hopped on a plane, headed south, and could not wait to

be in the land of sunshine, palm trees, and ocean waves!!!

Last time I was in Miami it was January, it was a bachelorette fest,

we ran a half marathon, and soaked up plenty of sunshine.

This trip we were celebrating our second anniversary, seeing my sister,

catching up with college friends, watching the Tigers play ...

... and oh-my-goodness is it f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g!!! Like why did I even pack

bathing suits!?! Thankfully South Beach is quite festive from shops to

parks to eateries to gooooood people watching. Off to play!!!

I learned this tidbit at my sissy-in-law's rehearsal dindin: negotiate your shopping budget before you say "I do." So true ... and why didn't I do that?!? Unexpected because ... Beantown Prep met us in Greece and I ran into an old sorority sister in Crete. WILD!!!

Fashionable because ... I made my first dress all by myself (well Mamatella did help quite a bit ...). :)

Sporty because ... Beantown Prep, Mamatella, and I hiked up to the Acropolis and didn't need to stop for any altitude breaks. Aren't we quite sporty!?!

Educational because ... Law school taught me more law and Bible Study taught me more grace.

Unforgettable because ... I have an a-m-a-z-i-n-g family and very step of this year I walked with Ale, the love of my life, by my side. :)

Confession: I am still not finished my Christmas shopping!!! In years past, this has never been an issue. I am a born shopper and love any reason to buy pressies. Making the jump from law student with three weeks off to working attorney has been a transition (not to mention all those fun Christmas parties). Needless to say, I have three days to finish and I am always up for a challenge. This season, my go-to has been Devon Baer. Her line fits all the ladies in my life, from my grandmother to mother to sisters to friends, and makes the perfect gift to give. You can shop her line too for 25% off "GIFTS" thru January 25th. I wore one of her dresses to my husband's company Christmas party last night and oh la la was it sooo fun wear. It's chic, comfy, frilly, PINK perfection, and top off with a ruffle collar. I believe the holidays beckon for a festive cocktail soirees!!! This holiday season, I am head over heels for this cocktail-ring-dress by Lilly Pulitzer. I want to wear it EVERY day!!! Isn't the print so fun!?! It has a ruffle edge and a swinging skirt ... perfect for d-a-n-c-i-n-g. I wore it to a black tie affair this weekend with my Grams jag belt and I cannot wait to take her for a whirl again. It's that time of year: Tacky Christmas Parties galore!!!
I love a reason to dress up ... even if its tacky. :)

I've had this Lilly Pulitzer lion Santa fabric forever and a day.
I really don't think its tacky ... but I sure do think its festive.

I might have borrowed my mom's Christmas sweater one too many times, so this year,

I slapped on candy cane tights, made a shift dress out of this festive fabric, and viola:

Rides Like a Cadillac

My husband loves to hunt. I never saw the thrill until he returned

home with pictures of horses, planes, dogs, and jeeps. Besides the

harming animals part, I think I'd really like "hunting."

This hunt was just my speed: I'm happy to report they just shot sporting clays.
Let's take a moment of silence for those shattered clays. :)

This trip he met Cadillac. Her owner named her that because "she rides like a Cadillac."

Isn't that precious!?! She is gorgie and I just love her blue stall.

When my husband returned from trips, whether fishing or hunting,

I use to ask: "what did you catch!?!" I've since learned ...

One whole year.

A year ago today, I lost my stepdad to cancer, but he won: he is in the presence of Jesus. My parents remarried their significant others when I was itty bitty and I don't remember life without them. More than anything I want him back. Grief is just the price we pay for love. For the first time since he passed, I searched through my old email correspondence with him. I was in giggle fits to find this was the last email I received from him:

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Holiday spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.
2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's rare... You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!
3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.
4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.
5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Holiday party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?
6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.
7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.
8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?
9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.
10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Ever since my high school we had a running joke of "don't eat too much." To let you in on the funny, it was my senior prom and after pictures at my parents house, our parents were sending my friend group off with well wishes. They were yelling goodbyes like "have fun" "be safe" and so on. Not to be outdone, my stepdad yells "BLC, don't eat too much." I remember him being mortified, my mom elbowing him, and everyone laughing. I still think its just as funny as I did that day. After all, laughter is the best medicine. Xoxo-BLC

PS: I really appreciate the kind words you shared last year. Donna reminded me last year that Christmas in heaven and celebrating Jesus's birth with him is far better than year (you can read her comment here). It helped me focus on his win, not our loss. In the past year, I can think of a friend who lost a parent, a friend who lost a sibling, and friend who lost a child. Being comforted by you helped me comfort them.

For as long as I can remember, one of my favorite past times is making cookies with my sweet madre.

From rolling out the dough to watching the oven bake to frosting with care to

This year we gave out "best cookie awards." The winners are: the colorful snowman,

the cowboy stocking, the well-decorated Christmas tree ...

There are NO WORDS to express my excitement: Clemson won the ACC Championship!!!

I am beyond proud of my Tigers ... and I am BEYOND excited to go to MIAMI!!!

We tailgated with the best of 'em: it included a white table cloth, DJ,

and tons of college chums. Oh la la was it FUN running into all those Clemson chums!!!

Isn't the sunset stunning!?! All I see is purple and orange. :)

I needed a rest-break hiking up to our seats.

I claim it was because of the "altitude" and not because I might be out of shape.

And BRRR was it chilly so high up, but just LOOK at that view of the field!!!

We couldn't stop smiling ear to ear!!! Miami here we come.

I couldn't stop giggling at all the fans throwing oranges on the field.

Fingers crossed we can win the Orange Bowl!!!

I just adore correspondence. Whether sending or receiving, I swoon over darling pictures, clever wording, and the creativity each card brings. I should really buy stock in Hallmark!!!

As promised, we mailed our Christmas cards this weekend and here is what we mailed. I couldn't help myself: I little Clemson theme just might have been my inspiration. I resisted writing "GO TIGERS" ...

I also send out a few Robin Hood Foundation cards to support their cause: poverty in New York City. Ghandi said it best: "Poverty is the worst form of violence." We can all help fight poverty this Christmas by donating food/clothing/money, volunteering at a local soup kitchen, praying for those in need ... be a creative: there are a million ways to lend a helping hand. If you can't beat 'em, then join 'em!!! My husband loves to hunt and so do I ... deals and steals at shops that is. He has accompanied me on countless shopping expeditions so I figured it was time to see what all the hunting fuss was about. We shot skeet and oh la la was it fun!!! The best part: no animals where hurt. Phew!!!

I must say: a shotgun is heavier, louder, and kicks more than I ever anticipated. Plus, those clay bits move rather fast. I only hit the clay skeet one time ... and my precious sister-in-law caught it all on video. How cute is she squealing with delight!?! Oh what a week ...

Oh what a week it has been!!! Here is the run-down:

Monday: I am on council for a local Kappa Delta chapter and they graciously invited me to a dinner at their house in honor of their new college president. It was such a wonderful night and I was so touched to be included. These girls consistently blow me away and I think the new college president felt the same.

Tuesday: My childhood best friend had her baby girl!!! She is perfection and I love her to pieces. Also, my college chum and fellow KD sorority sister that I bumped into in Greece happened to be in my town for the evening. I was thrilled to have her stay with us --- I cooked dindin (a small feat for moi) and we poured over her ah-mazing photographs from her trip. Such a blessing to have her visit us and fingers crossed our paths cross again soon!!!

Wednesday: I did my first gig as a big-girl-attorney: I attended a deposition in the place of an attorney at my firm. Don't get too excited: I was instructed not to say anything. Ha! When I arrived, I told the receptionist I was there for the deposition and she told me: "Let me know when your attorney gets here and I'll take you back to the conference room." When I told her that I was the attorney, she took me to the conference room and then the court reporter told me my raincoat was pretty. It was my suit jacket, but whatever.

Sidebar: I think I failed to formally mention: I PASSED THE BAR EXAM!!! I'm still jumping for joy. I'm so joyful about it, I signed up to take other state's bar upon my firms request (ughhh). Fingers crossed lightening strikes twice and I can pass it again!!!

Winesday (@blairsheadband informed me this is a different, more fun day than Wednesday): Since I had to travel to the land of The Pink Pelican for my deposition, I took my pretty-raincoat-suit-jacket self by for a visit of their new store. It is TDF!!! It's easy peasy to find, the shopgirls could not be more friendly, and the shopping is more than fun. It's a must see if you are in their neck of the woods. I wouldn't have ever left, but I had dinner plans with A. Liz Adventures!!! She is the best --- all smiles and just a bundle of fun. She taught me all about the 21st century: apps, words with friends, etc. I cannot wait to squeeze her again soon!!!

Thursday: It's my first day ever in court alone!!! I was so excited/nervous/pumped I can't stand it. I get to the courthouse an hour away only to have my client fail to appear. I didn't make it out of the courthouse before I teared up. Oh dear!!! Don't fret: I went back to court that afternoon on another case and my client did appear. The hearing went smooth as butter. Phew!!! Needless to say, my standing Thursday night plans with the girls was much needed.

Saturday: My dad called me before Clemson halftime and asked me if we needed grief counseling for the Clemson v. NC State game. I'd like to change my answer to YES!!! Lord have mercy. If we loose, I prefer to loose to a family members alma mater and we did just that: my NC-State-grad-sister is thrilled to pieces. Our local TV station even pulled the game before our fourth quarter. Ouch!!! I'm keeping the faith ... but still not buying any plane tickets Miami just yet!!!

I just love this song "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry for so many reasons. One of which, I believe the same as Kimberly Perry said about this song: "We really have gotten to live and love at our young ages. This Is So Clutch

You know what is so clutch!?! k.slademade. She hands down has the best clutches ever. I prefer clutches to handbags and finding good, quality clutches is tough stuff. k.slademade is now my one-stop-shop!!!

I carried the large pony leather clutch to the wedding yesterday. This color goes perfectly with black, brown, grey ... you name it. My husband couldn't stop complimenting the clutch. My husband appreciating fashion!?! YES PULEAZE!!!

I couldn't just pick one clutch from her fabulous line and my other choice was the true navy. Tis rather though to find a navy clutch and I just love this one to pieces!!! As you can see, the clutches can stay small or expand due to their fold-over style. I simply adore this entire line!!! My next k.slademade purchase is sure to be one from her tribal collection. Our Fall has been FILLED with weddings and I just love it. My husband on the other

hand is being the best sport ever as this wedding season interrupts his football season.

During dindin, I sat next to The Sweet Life and That's so Michelle, both fabulous bloggers.

It was so fun chit chatting with those two and I am their newest followers.

Maggie Mayd and I went to college together. She was one of my very first friends.

She is just the best and I had the best time with all our college chums.

I have absolutely no idea what we are doing above ...

Two of my most favorite people are celebrating birthdays today: my childhood best friend and Lilly Pulitzer, the Queen of the Jungle herself!!! If I could pick to meet one person in the whole world, it would be Lilly.

I imagine her to be just like Janie Schoenborn, the talented LP design director, eloquently described the ultimate Lilly Pulitzer woman: "She is confident and loves color. She is independent and loves to stand out in her Lilly. She has style and is really chic. It's the woman you want to sit next to at a dinner party."

Tis the season for buying Christmas cards!!! I just love love love love ...

Let's get social, shall we!?! I recently created a The Company She Keeps facebook page. It's a great way for me to keep you up-to-date, share pictures, and just stay in touch. Make my day by hitting that "like" button!!!

I also keep an ongoing closet sale at TCSK II (http://theclothesshekept.blogspot.com/). Visit her for my recent bad decisions, i.e. those purchases that I just had to have ... even when too small, too big, or too glamorous for the life I lead. I just added a whole bunch of loot, even a purse from Greece!!!

To answer the mass questions, the dress I wore to the first Clemson game is Lilly circa 2008, the white tunic I am wearing in my Greece pictures is a one of a kind from Greece, and the big turquoise tote is also a Greece purchase. A "Kick Off Your Heels" Wedding

I must say, for three girl, three boys, two hours, one bathroom, and one mirror, we don't look too shabby!!! I was even ready e-a-r-l-y. When does that ever happen!?! I grabbed a cocktail with the boys and then the six of us headed to the wedding. The ceremony took place in the courtyard of a big Southern home. As you can see, it was gorgeous!!! I am so glad the frock I wore hid grass stains well because I took quite a spill right after the wedding. What was I thinking: heels on grass!?! Oh well! The reception took place under a huge tent and oh-was-it fun. I kicked off those dreadful heels and danced the night away in glittery Toms. I am beyond thrilled for these two Clemson chums and their I-dos!!! Many thanks for including us in your special day --- and it was quite special indeed. This past summer, I lived under rock while studying for the bar exam. However, I did keep up with your blogs (I always read even if I am terrrrible at leaving comments), and I felt as though the summer blockbusters were the best-ever-girls-only-flicks. It probably had more to do with my no-fun-policy than anything else, but I was beyond delighted when Glitterista added the preview for Monte Carlo ...

I am a huge fan of Leighton Meester: from her style to her character Blair on Gossip Girl to her songs to her movies. Now that I am free to have as much fun as I want, I recently saw this movie and I might-have-sort-of-did squeal like a teenager through the entire movie. It was really too cute for words!!! Oktoberfest

Before heading home, we decided on a whim to visit Helen, Georgia.
It's not too far from Clemson and it is d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y worth the trip.

Every September, October, and November, the town hosts Oktoberfest.

It has the best-ever candy apples and those famous Fall leaves that pop with color.

The whole town is in the tudor style (even Waffle House) as if straight from Germany.

Many moons ago, when my husband and I were students at Clemson and just started dating,

we took a day trip here and its was the first time I knew I loved him.

Isn't that sweet!?! It was so fun visiting Helen again. Xoxo-BLC

We headed to Clemson, South Carolina this weekend for the Clemson v. UNC game.

I ♥ spending Fall weekends in Clemson. I was BEYOND excited for this game in particular ...

... I sported my new Elizabeth McKay dress. If you look very closely at the print, you can see a "liger." It might really be a lion, but as a Clemson fan, I am pushing for liger (lion + tiger = liger). The dress was beyond comfortable and chic too. I simply must add other prints of this Lindsey dress: I am eyeing the zebra print and, if Clemson keeps on winning, the purple chain print is a must must must.

We carried two UNC friends and had a ball tailgating, glamping, and dining at all our favorite spots: Pixie and Bills, The Esso, and, of course, Pot Belly Deli. As a huge Duke fan and Clemson fan, beating UNC is always my favorite!!! I still keep pinching myself and hardly know what to do with all these Clemson wins. All I can say is: "woo hoo hoo hoo" and "GO TIGERS!!!" Xoxo-BLC

It was mostly a work related visit, but he did manage to play some too.

It was far away from home and a looong time to be gone, but this has been a trip of a lifetime and of course I didn't want it to end. I definitely didn't want to squeeze Beantown Prepster goodbye ... sniff sniff.

Our first day was sooo busy, that we had an easy day planned. We ate a leisurely breakie at the King George Palace where I sampled all the cakes (cake for breakfast!?! Count me in!!!). Mamatella and Beantown Prepster had less-tummy-ache inducing nibbles. We sipped champagne before returning to our hotel room to ...

... watch the changing of the guard. We saw all this commotion on Sunday, not realizing that was their big to-do. Regardless, watching the rainy changing of guard from the comfort of our room was just as special.

We then dodged the rain by shopping up a storm!!! Beantown Prepster was so gracious letting me go into Zara, H&M, and the like. It was such a fun, special last day. I miss Greece already, but I miss Beantown Prepster more!!! Until next time ... ta-ta for now. Xoxo-BLC

PS: Mamatella snapped the picture above to show the police presence. I read before leaving the Greece had very low crime rates. We felt safe all hours of the day. The strikes and demonstrations were peaceful, both having very little impact on our travel. If you are thinking of traveling to Greece, I highly highly highly recommend it. They love travelers and are super welcoming. Just be sure to let me know when you go and I just might tag along!!! :)

Grecian Sandal God

I've read about Pandelis Melissino in Daily Candy, Frommer's, and, the best literature: Lilly's Blog. He is the Grecian Sandal God!!! As a third generation sandal maker, I would say he owns the trick of the trade.

The Melissino family has created custom shoes and fit them to the like of the Beatles, Sophia Loren, and Jackie Kennedy Onassis ... need I say more!?! I just had to have a pair.

As a graduate of Parsons School of Design, Pandelis is an amazing artist: from sandals to art to poetry to everything in between. It was so fun watching him work in his studio and storefront.

With over 27 styles to choose from, it was one tough tough tough decision. I was super tempted by the Jackie O flip flop, but I ended up picking Socrates. Such a smart choice, wouldn't you agree!?! :)

When we arrived home, I couldn't wait to show 'em off to Joeytella. He might not have fully appreciated custom shoes as he prefers going barefoot. If you are ever in Athens, you must must must stop and visit Pandelis!!! Xoxo-BLC

Edge + City = Acropolis

Our first day in Athens was a BIG day. With threats of rain and a transportation strike, we had to get all our must-sees done asap!!! We headed straight for the Acropolis. It was ah-mazing. Pictures don't do it justice. You can see it all around the city and from each view it had me awestruck.

We booked it to the world famous flea market. I must admit, I see shopping as a competitive sport and I was a tad disappointed. The finds were fabulous if you were an antique hunter, but not so much if you need to fly home. Next on the docket: the National Archeological Museum and it was lovely. I could have spent a week there, but unfortunately, we had to pack EVERYTHING into one day. We hightailed it back to the Acropolis to visit their museum and oh-my-goodness was it the BEST ever. By far a must-see!!! Phew, I'm tired just thinking of all we did and we aren't even done ... Xoxo-BLC

Athens Arrival ...

We left Santorini via plane for Athens, Greece where we met up with Beantown Prepster!!!

Due to the strikes, we encountered some delays, but we made it in time to have a late dindin with Beantown Prepster. We dined at the rooftop restaurant of our hotel King George Palace. The view of the Acropolis lit up at night was d-i-v-i-n-e!!! More Athens with BP to come. Xoxo-BLC

PS: I read Daily Candy often and they recommended King George Palace. I researched on Trip Advisor, and I must say: it did not disappoint at all. The location was perfect, the hotel was plush, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Discovering Atlantis

Today was our busiest day packed with fun. We drove from Oia to Fira,

hopped on cable car to the harbor where we loaded onto a boat:

We hiked to the top of Nea Kameni Volcanic Island. The view was ah-mazing!!!

Too tired to walk up the caldera, we rode donkeys ...

... never have I ever seen my mom laugh so hard. The donkeys literally RAN up the hillside!!!

We ended the day visiting the Archelogical Museum of Thira and shopping in Fira.

What a day!?! This was one of the best days because we saw it alllll. Xoxo-BLC

PS: I see why Santorini is rumored to be Atlantis. The island is stunning and the myth that is could be just makes the island that much more magical!!!

Caldera + Sunset = ♥

We left Heraklion via hydrafoil for Santorini. We almost walked from Fira to Oia, the town in the middle of the island to the town at the end of the island. It was breathtaking along the caldera.

We settled in our "traditional cave" hotel room and surfaced poolside to watch the sunset.

I do believe Santorini had the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

We spent the evening exploring the town of Oia and dined at 1800. I had read the guidebook and on Daily Candy that 1800 was a must-not-miss and I could not agree more!!! I think its named 1800 because I could eat there 1800 years in a row and never tire of it ... Xoxo-BLC

Knossos Palace

We visited Knossos Palace a day late due to the strikes. We were pleasantly surprised to learn the Greeks announce strikes before they actually strike. That made swapping our plans seamless.

The crowds were huge, but having such a small tour group, we just weaved in and out quickly. I'm thrilled we didn't miss this place ... it was incredible!!!

I still cannot imagine this monstrosity being built before Christ. The whole place had me in awe!!! Xoxo-BLC

PS: I didn't check my luggage, so packing efficiently was a must. The weather could not have been better. It ranged from a high of 80s to mid 60s at night. It only rain on the last leg of our trip. Anyhoo, I packed two of my favorite tennis tops that have managed to sneak into my everyday wardrobe (one pictured above). Both are by Loup. The Raglan Ruffle Top and the White Ruffle Sleeves are breathable, easy to wash'n'dry in a jiffy, and beyond comfy. And chic too!!! Never have I ever had such a small world moment in all my life. I am the furthest from home that I have ever been, in the southern corner of Crete, when I ran into a sorority sister from Clemson. I literally stopped in my tracks and could not believe it!! We were in a remote town to catch a ferry ... and so were they!!! We spent the entire day together and it was one of my favorite days ever. We had the ferry ride to catch up: we talked about love, loosing loved ones, and life. A year ago we learned my stepdad had cancer and lost him in December; a month ago she and her husband lost their sweet baby girl to Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Grief is so tough, but being certain of their salvation is such comfort. Picking back up right were we left off, it was surreal being on the Libyan Sea chatting up a storm. The day was forever unforgettable. It's a small world after all!!! Xoxo-BLC

It's a fabulous guide company and our tour include loads of walks, hikes, and the like.

We headed back to Clemson, South Carolina this weekend for the CU v. FSU game.

For the first time ever, we watched a game in Death Valley with air conditioning. It was d-i-v-i-n-e!!!

It was a scorcher, but that didn't stop us from tailgating before, half-time, and after the game.

I usually snap a picture of us before the game because Ale doesn't smile much if we loose.

As you can see from the smile and the crowd rushing the field, it means one thing: we won!!!

Touchdowns and Tailgates

Last year we attended the Clemson v. Auburn game in Auburn (see that post here).

We were thrilled for the rematch:

for a new game and to play with Clemson chums and Auburn chums alike.

Above, the most exciting 25 seconds in college football just happened!!!

It was a nail-biting, up and down first half ...

... but by the fourth quarter we were smiling ear to ear!!!

It was such a good game and a win for our Clemson Tigers feels ah-mazing.

I am so very much looking forward to meeting this team again ...

Friday Night Lights

We headed to Clemson, South Carolina last night for a football filled weekend!!! While Ale had alumni meetings to attend, I met up with Mamatella and my great aunt. I could kick myself for not snapping a picture. Oh well!!! We had a great time lunching and shopping.

By then, The Sweet Southern Life had landed on her flight in from Texas!!! I was beyond thrilled to squeeze her and spend ALL weekend with her. We ate dindin at the Esso and met up with ol' Clemson chums in downtown Tiger Town. The rest of our group arrived so we returned to our abode for the weekend: we glamped lakeside again (see this post here)!!! This is my most anticipated game of the year: AML is in from Texas, my law school BFF is up cheering for Auburn, and two childhood friends (and Auburn alums) were here up too. When the company is good, the game is certain to be great!!! Xoxo-BLC

One of the top fashion houses is debuting their line at Tar-jey this week: Missoni for Target and it looks ah-mazing!!! I have oogled Missoni in Vogue for over 15 years. Their line is always timeless, classic, elegant, and a signature staple. I cannot wait to add one of these pieces to my wardrobe:

I once saw Oprah interview Margherita Missoni, the muse of Missoni and granddaughter of Missoni's founder. One snippet stuck with me: Margherita said her grandmother, Rosita, told her you can show skin on top or on the bottom, but never both. So wise!!! Off to shop the new collection ... Xoxo-BLC
