Hoppy Easter!!!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter!!!
While I enjoy the bunny (and candy too), this day is all about Jesus.
Jesus said in John 11:25: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live,
even though they die." Jesus is alive and let us rejoice!!! Xoxo-BLC

Happy Good Friday!!!

Wishing you and yours a Gooood Friday! John 3: 16 (NIV) reads, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." May today start your Easter weekend off on the right hoppity-hop! Xoxo-BLC

Palm (Tree) Sunday

I know this a few days late, but I just cannot miss celebrating Palm Sunday!!! My childhood church always passed out BIG palms on this day. I cannot spy a palm tree without thinking of Palm Sunday. In John 12:12-14, it says:

"The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Isreal!" Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: "Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey's colt."" (NIV)

Palm Sunday is special to me because I was first saved by His grace on this date many many many moons ago. I am wishing you a very special day and hosanna!!! Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: THE PINK ROOM

And this is my most favorite bedroom of all times: THE PINK ROOM!!!
I couldn't talk our painters into doing stripes (???) so I did it myself. Don't look too closely because it's not perfect, but tape, a pencil, and a ruler sure did make me feel like a painting pro.
I love this dreamy painting. It transports me to the Italian coast with no cares or concerns. And it's my favorite colors: pink, green, and a pop of blue. One pillow is Lilly and the other from my Greece trip.
The bedding is what we used in our condo. I love love love an all-white bedspread.
And it's perfectly bleachable for those dirty paw marks ...
Every fussy room needs a chandy in it ... don't you agree!?!
This chandelier was too low in dining room so a switch-er-roo did the trick. I love it in here!
The furniture is my mother-in-law's from childhood. The details are even girly with little flowered edges. I'm always shocked when guests don't want to stay in this room. What, like it's bright!?! Tee hee ...
I am still 100% completely thankful my husband didn't kill me (or worse make me change it) for painting these pink stripes. This room makes me completely happy and I love it more each day. If we have only boys, I'll consider repainting it, but until then, let the pinkness reign!!! Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: Guest Bedroom

If you come to spend the night, this is more than likely where you will stay ... until August, then it's the baby's bedroom. Many thanks for ALL your kind words --- I was so touched. :)
This is the one bed Stewart isn't allowed on ... because it's really nice bedding and it's for guests-only.
You can see my disciple skills are really strenuous ...
My grandmother painted the above picture and I am so thrilled to have it in our home. Her children have most of her work and I am so thankful for this one (and one other one) lives with us. She sure had talent. The other one is in my office ... and it's PINK and GREEN.
The wardrobe use to belong to my grandmother and it's such a treasure. That sucker is so heavy it was moved in that position and shall never more. The chair is Ale's grandmother's and oh sooo comfy.
The rug also came from my grandmother's house and it is the perfect blend of pink and blue. Since we aren't finding out if our baby is a girl or boy ... I think its the perrrrfect carpet either way if it is a he or she!!! We need to get started on the nursery soon ... and I'll be sure to share it before the big day. Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: The Man Cave

The upstairs is dubbed "the man cave" because it is ALL boy. From the ducks unlimited recliner to the hunting theme throughout ... it's boy oh boy.
The paint color is "brown buzz" which is more green than brown (also seen in our living room and her bathroom). It's strange how different it looks in each room.
One of the most unique wedding gifts we received was the duck painting below. My husband loves it and its been such a wonderful gift we've enjoyed.
Stewart tries to trick us into thinking he sleeps in his bed and not the real beds ... we aren't buying what he is selling. He sure does look innocent ...
I keep meaning to paint the dresser hunter green ... why is that such a bottom-of-the-list task!?!
I love love love the twin bedding. You can't reallllly tell, but there are itty bitty ruffles down the seams ... shhh don't tell the boys --- the hunting scene really does make it "manly bedding." Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: His Bathroom

In his bathroom, I wanted it to be fun and ALL boy. So seacreatures, trophies, and football it is!
I purchased the fabric above from Calico Corners and made the shower curtain to fit. If you have a sewing machine and can use google, you too could make a shower curtain. I dare you to try!!!
Here is his "trophy" corner ... fake head mount and golf trophy just to name a few.
Below: the oh-so-glorious Death Valley pictures from college ...
It's hard merging his and hers, but I definitely wanted his space to be alllll his. The blue color in here turned out to be one of my most favorite paint colors. It sure is tough to pick when looking at all those paint chips!!! Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: The Kitchen

Our home has a galley kitchen and I really LOVE this space.
It's tight and tidy, holding just want we need.
The rooster lamp stays on 99% of the time.
We always have a full fruit/bowl and to balance it out:
the cake stand with something yummy.
It's hard to keep things off the counters for a neat look,
but the kitchen aid mixer is a must (it's TOO heavy) as are the
containers with flour, sugar, and oatmeal ... and dog treats for Stew.
I feel like we are turning into my parents more and more each day.
Exhibit 1: his and hers coffee machines ... like why can't we agree on our coffee!?!
I love having a clutter-filed fun fridge.
From postcards to invites to pictures, it makes me happy!!!

Home Tour: Dining Room

You peeked a glimpse of this room before in THIS POST! This turns out to be the room when we host parties ... it might have something to do with the food and beverages. :)
The poufs were the best-ever-purchase-from-Target. I wish I had 10 more. The ginger jar lamps don't match ... I just couldn't pick which pattern I liked more, so one of each came to live with us.
Wait ... I'm not suppose to hang my fine china on the wall??? But it's sooo pretty ...
Mamatella gifted me her silver service and I do love having it on display.
The above picture was a flea market steal ... I still can't believe the price tag. The flamingos are another story: it was an auction rookie mistake but I am thrilled they are mine. :)
Stewart is at his seat at the table. Perfectly position between our seats just in case something were to fly off the table. The table is from my paternal granddad and the cane chairs from my maternal grandad.
The story: I had never bid at a silent auction before, so I penciled in the highest bid I would EVER pay for these pink ladies. And then no else bid ... fail, but still happy they live with ME!!!
Below is a picture of my great, great, great, great, great grandmother. I don't know how I was so lucky to get this painting, but its one of my most favorite possessions.
Our goal for this room was high and low. It's our dining room and kitchen table, so it needed to go up for up occasions and down for the everyday. It's also a main walkway, so functionality was key. Won't you come over soon for dindin!?! Xoxo-BLC

The Parent Rap

Things to look forward to ... :)

Home Tour: The Porch

Our porch is one of my favorite resting spots.
We wanted comfy furniture perfect for socializing or even Sunday naps.
Stewart loves the porch ... it's his neighborhood watch time. :)
The ceiling is haint blue which adds a cool feel. And I looove this fan.
Come visit and we can a lemonade fueled chit chat!!! Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: Living Room

This is where we spend most of our time and do most of our entertaining:
I love the hunter green front door ... distressing courtesy of Stewart. The bookshelves are one of my favorite flea market finds. One was red and the other white, a little gold spray paint and viola.
See the gold animals? They are all over our house and always give guests a laugh.
Mamatella graciously made all but a few pillows for us. They add the perfect pops.
My in-laws were too kind and gave us the Hollywood Regency end tables and I just swoon for them. They also gave us A LOT of furniture, including the wingbacks and cane chair.
Our only two Craigslist finds: the antique coffee table and the leather couch.
You are true and frequent guest if you've slept on this couch ... it's that comfy.
The elephant end table is one of my all-time favorite pieces. My husband surprised me with it and it is a throwback to one of my favorite pieces in my Grandad's house.
Our condo didn't have a fireplace and I have loved loved loved having one here. Before we were in and settled we melted smores over it ... just because we could. This is another one of my favorite rooms in the house! Xoxo-BLC

Home Tour: The Bedroom

I have three favorite rooms and this is one of them:
Stewart agrees ... he thinks this room belongs to just him!!!
Above is "his side" and below is "my side":
I just love love love the prints from Two's Company ... even if they always seem crooked.
The bedding is Pine Cone Hill and it works perrrfect for hiding dirty paws ...
Doesn't he look guilty!?! The curtains were shown HERE first. I really wanted the bedroom to be romantic and relaxed without being girly and fussy. Xoxo-BLC
