Imposs'o'lu-tions: (n.) New Year's Resolutions. Love 'em, hate 'em, and I still make 'em (even on the last day of the month). Drum roll ... here are my 2011 resolutions:
1. Increase my faith. I want to grow closer to God and share my faith more with others.
2. Eat less sugar. This makes the list every.single.year!
3. Have better posture. It too makes the list every year.
4. Be more frank. Laugh more at funnies, be direct, and say "I love you" more to those I looove.
5. Learn to say nooo. Ever heard the phrase, "stop me before I volunteer again." That's me!!! Since I cannot do everything well, let me practice saying no, no, no, noooo, no, no, no, nope, NO!!!
So do tell: do you have any resolutions!? Good luck to you and yours!!! Xoxo-BLC

The Thrill of the Hunt

What a weekend!? Mamatella, my oldest sissy, and I had a girls-only-weekend (well almost ... of course our boy furbabies Jackie and Joeytella were in tow). We had the best time!!! I had so much fun that I didn't even snap one picture. Whoopsies!!! Well, not to be outdone, the boys had to play ALL weekend too. They went hunting or should I say huntin. Ale took a pile of pictures on his Blackberry and I am sooo glad he did. I always wonder what really goes on during this "hunting" trips. Here are the snaps of his recent hunting trip to Arkansas and from this weekend in Mississippi:
I always assumed they drove their cars ... yet their transportation varies:
teeny tiny planes, jeeps, and four wheelers. Looks like fun!!!
They hunted ducks and bunnies this weekend. I do like duck, but do not dare feed me deer or a hare.
Aren't the horsies gorgie!? Ale told me they were super friendly and reallllly
liked their orange hunting gear. They must be Clemson fans too!!! Hehe.
Now I know why he is always hush hush about these hunting trips. I want to go!!! They look like sooo much fun on such a gorgie back drop. Minus the guns and harming animals and all that dirt part. I hardly recognized Ale's ride when he picked me up from the airport because it was completely covered in mud. Ick!!! For now, I will stick to girls-only-weekends and just "hunt" at boutiques. Xoxo-BLC

That's A Wrap Babs

With this super duper chilly weather, layers are pivotal. It makes packing a tad tougher too.
As such, I have found my winter-cannot-live-without: it's Babs (or any wrap style sweater).
Tres versatile!!! Four different looks for the same sweater makes four days worth of outfits. I just adore the endless possibilities. When good engineering meets high fashion, that's a wrap babs!!! Xoxo-BLC

Spring's Debut and Mine too!!! :)

It's here ... Lilly Pulitzer's S-P-R-I-N-G!!!

Me, me, mE, Me, ME, me, mE, meee.
I finally have my very own ...
It's a Lilly-lover's dream come true.
I am beyond excited. BEYOND!!!
Naturally, that dress makes my:
Must-purchase-right-away list.

P-ain't Life Grand?

Ain't life grand!? Well, Sissy's Paintings sure does paint a lot of color into life making it much more grand. I have said it once before, but it warrants repeating, I do have the most talented friends. And I adore tooting their horns!!! My dear college chum and friend for life, Jane Marie, is among that talented bunch. She is the author of Lola's Journey To and From and the painter of Sissy's Paintings by Jane Marie.
For Sissy's Paintings, it all started with an accidental uploaded picture of one of her paintings. Immediately, ALL of her friends and family swoooned over her work. Her whimsical prints do make life so much more colorful. We all demanded our very own Sissy's Painting. Thankfully she opened for business and even does custom prints. Oh la la!!! Pink and green for me!!! Don't you just love her work!?!?!? I sure do and if you do one could be yours (hint hint ... giveaway tomorrow!!!). Xoxo-BLC

Toast of the Town

Every Thursday I have standing plans with my law school besties. Sometimes cocktails are involved.
As such, here is one of my favorite cocktails: The Champagne Classic!!!
It's most enjoyable when sipped in good company. Xoxo-BLC

Maaahhoooovalous Vintage

Vogue circa 1960ish                                        Martha Stewart Living circa February 2011
Much to my delight, my sweet friend CJM emailed me this Vogue feature from circa 1960ish of Lilly Pulitzer. Talk about maaahhoooovalous vintage!!! Well, I could hardly believe my eyes when the February issue of Martha Stewart Living shows Keni Valenti and his fabulous vintage Lilly collection. I am using BOTH articles as proof Lilly is a sound, safe, and foolproof investment. Who's with me!?!? Xoxo-BLC

Happy MLK Day!!!

The time is right to always do what is right.
Serving others is right. What do you do serve others?
I can do more and I pledge do more to serve others.
May the King's dream live long and live within me.

Hope Floats

We couldn't leave Mobile without a little visit to Fairhope, Alabama!
We have heard such a fuss about this place ...
And this sleepy, quaint town lives up to all that fuss!!!
It reminded me of the movie Hope Floats. Sooo charming!!!
Ale and I kept saying, "why don't we live at the coast???"
Maybe one day!!! Xoxo-BLC

Hello Wedding Season!!!

Yes ...
It has begun!!!
Hello 2011 Wedding Season.
This is our first wedding.
But we have A LOT of weddings scheduled.
Almost each and every month!!!
And, like last year,
Multiple weddings on the same day! Boo.
We could split and conquer.
But then who would I dance with!?
We had the BEST time at this wedding.
It was super, duper swanky!!!
My favorite part: band, cake, pink flowers ...
I could go on and on and on. :)
As always, cheers the newlywed's love, laughter, and happily ever after!!! We are thrilled for you two.

Going Coastal

We are going coastal this weekend for a dear friends wedding festivities.
I never imagined we would meet a sphix in Mobile, Alabama!!!
The downtown was beyond charming. And colorful too!!!
Chin chin to the weekend and going coastal!!! Xoxo-BLC

I should not have to persuade you, but this Lilly Pulitzer suede clutch is a must!!!
It's chic, oversized, and comes in pink, green, blue, and silver/gold. The perfect pop to any outfit.
This accessory has an accessory: a detachable parrot pendant. The parrot looks stunning on my fur chubby.
Can you feel the purse-suede-sion of this oh-so-chic suede clutch!? I do, I do!!! Pink for me. Xoxo-BLC

Fursace Family Foto

Mamatella, Joeytella, BLCtella. I looove the fur-sace off of you two!!! Xoxo-BLC

The Princess Bride

Ruffles, layers, lace, and flower ladden gowns, oh my!!! I am just too excited about the multiple royal weddings on the horizon. Of course, I am tickled about Prince William and soon-to-be Princess Kate's upcoming wedding date. I am sooo curious about which frock she will sport. I have my fingers crossed that she too picks Monique Lhuillier. I loved wearing a ML gown!!! I find her styles to be classic, timeless, and chic ... perfect for a princess bride. Swooon!!! ML designed this gown for soon-to-be Princess Kate:
I could listen to my mom retell of waking up super early to watch the royal wedding of 1981 over and over and over again. I look forward to doing the very same: you better believe I will be parked in front of my tellie in the wee hours of the morning come April 29th!!! Will you be watching too!? Or attending as a guest (a girl can dream, right???)!!!??? Xoxo-BLC

Love Actually

I believe: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails" 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. I constantly learn of love from my faith, my husband, my friendships, and, of course, my parents. I am celebrating love ALL day today because it's my mom and stepfather's 23rd wedding anniversary. I am sooo thankful to have witnessed, grow-up surrounded by, and felt the love my parents shared. I am saying a special prayer for Mamatella today that she feels our love for her. Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem In Memoriam  said it best: "I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Love is actually all around. Xoxo-BLC

Night at the Museum

I must say the 2011 wedding season might be my favorite year yet.
My one and only little sister-in-law is getting married this Spring and I am b-e-y-o-n-d excited!!!
Above is Ale, me, my darling sister-in-law, and my soon-to-be brother-in-law. We kicked off their wedding festivities tonight with an engagement party at a museum. It was absolutely enchanting. Their day will be here in a jiffy and my prayer is that they enjoy every minute of it!!! Xoxo-BLC

I might not be fabulous, but today I feel f-a-b-u-l-o-o-o-u-s!!!
It's Friday: a fabulous day to finish those not so fabulous make-up law school finals. :)
Wishing you and yours a happy weekend!!! Chin-chin. Xoxo-BLC

Why the shell not!?

Celebrate the good times of 2011 with a little shoooping!?!?
Why the shell not!? Happy 2011 to you and yours. Xoxo-BLC

Rabbit, Rabbit

Rabbit, rabbit!!!
Robert Lynd stirred up a little superstition when he wrote "Solomon In All His Glory,"...  it goes  a little like this,

"'Why,' the man in the brown hat laughed at him, 'I thought everybody knew 'Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.' If you say 'Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit'--three times, just like that--first thing in the morning on the first of the month, even before you say your prayers, you'll get a present before the end of the month."

So at the beginning of each month,

I am going to start saying a little "rabbit, rabbit."
Wishing you and yours a
blessed, fun, and happy month!!!

It's Our FIRST Anniversary!!!

Ale is one year into serving his WIFE sentence!!!
On this day last year, we promised to love, honor, and cherish one another forever.
We ate slices from the top tier of our wedding cake. It was just as delish even one year later.
I also might-have-sort-of-did put on my Monique Lhuillier wedding gown just for kicks:
I am beyond blessed to have met, fallen in love, and married the love of my life.
Cheers to our love, laughter, and happily ever after!!! Xoxo-BLC

Hello 2011 ... Happy New Year!!!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!!! May this be your best year yet!!! Xoxo-BLC
